Gelodurate ointment
80 mg Eucalyptus Oil / G and 10 mg Levomenthol / G

Read the entire leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. This medicine is available without prescription. However, in order to achieve the best possible treatment success, Geiodurat® ointment must be used properly.

1.What is Gelodurat® ointment and what is it used for?

Gelodurat® ointment looks lucally, promotes secret transport and facilitates breathers.
For external use to improve the condition for colds of the airways (such as uncomplicated colds, hoarseness and uncomplicated bronchial katarrh).

2. What do you need to consider before using GELODURAT® ointment?

Gelodurate ointment must not be used:
- if they are hypersensitive (allergic) against EUCalyptus oil, Levomenthol or any of the other ingredients of Gelodurat® ointment,
- for infants and toddlers under 2 years (danger of laryngeal stalks),
- if they are bronchial and daily cough, as well as pseudo-frupp and other respiratory diseases, which are suffering from a pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract, as the inhalation can lead to cramping the bronchial muscles,
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding,
- in case of inhalation therapy in acute inflammation of the respiratory tract and acute pneumonia,
- For external enrolling for skin and teething health conditions with eXanthem as well as injured skin, z. B. in burns.

Special care when using Geiodurat® ointment is required:
What precautions should be taken?
Do not apply to mucous membranes (also not the nose) or in the area of the eyes. Do not apply on the face. After the application, please wash your hands well. Gelodurat® ointment should only be applied externally and for inhalation treatment.

When using GELODURAT® ointment with other medicines:
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take / use other medicines or recently taken / applied, even if it is non-prescription medicines. Eucalyptus oil causes induction of the foreign substance-degrading enzyme system in the liver. The effects of other medicines can therefore be attenuated and / or shortened. This can not be excluded in large-scale and / or long-term use v / earth due to a recording of larger volume quantities due to the skin.

Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
Ask for a front taking / application of all medicines your doctor or pharmacist for advice. There are no sufficient data for the use of GELODURAT® ointment in pregnancy and lactation. Important information about certain other ingredients of GELODURAT® ointment:
Menthol can produce a laryngeal cramp in infants and toddlers for up to 2 years with the consequence of heavy breathing disorders.

3. How to use Gelodurat® ointment?

Always use Gelodurat® ointment exactly as directed in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
- To attach: up to 4 times a day, apply about 5 cm (in children a 1 - 3 cm) Long ointment strand Gelodurat® ointment on chest and back and massage easily.
- For inhalation: In addition, inhalation treatment can be carried out. For this, the GELODURAT®-Lnhalator N is available. For inhalation up to 4 times a day, add approx. 4 cm (in children 1 - 2 cm) Long ointment strand in a suitable vessel with about 1 - 21 hot water (about 80 ° C). If an inhaler is used, the associated operating instructions or the mark for the amount of water must be observed. Carefully bend your head over the vessel because the vapors can be very hot at first. Cover the head and vessel with a cloth and breathe the ascending essential vapors through mouth and nose. In order to avoid a possible irritation of the eye-tether, it is advisable to close or cover the eyes during inhalation. The inhalation should be carried out for 10 minutes each.

Type of application:
To prepare inhalations and external use. Do not let children inhaled unattended, as there is a risk of scalding! With the hot water necessary for the evaporation of the essential agents and for the inhalation, it should be handled as careful as possible. The vessel used for the inhalation is to be placed on a stable, tilting-safe surface. After inhalation, thoroughly clean the vessel. Care should be taken that children with their hands can not get into contact with the grated skin sections.

Duration of application:
In case of complaints that last longer than 3 - 5 days, at shortness of breath, headache, fever or purulent / bloody ejection or nasal secretion, a doctor must urgently have to be visited.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Gelodurat® ointment is too strong or too weak.

If you have used a larger amount of gelodural ointment than you should:
Symptoms such as Heart Jay, Heat Fight, Weakness and Oral Trouble, Diarrhea and Fever may occur. For intended external application or inhalation, overdose phenomena is not expected. In the event of accidental ingestion (swallowed), nausea and vomiting occur as a result of the mucous membrane-neutral properties, possibly also diarrhea. In external large-scale application, poisoning phenomena can occur, e.g. kidney damage and damage to the central nervous system (CNS). If there is suspected overdose, a doctor is immediately notified.

If you forget the application of GELODURAT® ointment:
Do not apply twice the dose if you forget the previous application. If you have further questions about the application of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Which side effects are possible?

Like all medicines, GELODURAT® ointment can have side effects that do not have to occur with everyone.
