Field of use

• The medicine is a laxan (laxative) and liver therapy.
• Field of use:
  • For symptomatic treatment of stool plug (constipation), which cannot be influenced by slag -rich food and other measures.
  • For symptomatic treatment of hepatic encephalopathy.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient Lactitol.
  • in all cases with non -secured intestinal passage (intestinal obstruction, artificial intestinal exit, etc.), since the medicine has its effect in the large intestine.
  • there are no knowledge in the case of galactose intolerance, the preparation should not be taken in galactosemia (a rare, hereditary metabolic disease). Especially in infants and toddlers, the autosomal recessive hereditary fructose intolerance syndrome can be excluded. The incomplete breakdown leads to fructosemia and urie, hypoglycemia and hypoglycemic liver, kidney and brain damage.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
• a) constipation (stool plug):
  • The dosage should be adjusted individually in such a way that a bowel movement takes place once a day.
    • Adults (including older patients): The initial dose is 20 g of powder daily (2 bags) and is taken as a one -off dose at meals in the morning or evening.
    • If a daily bowel movement takes place, a laxative effect can be achieved individually by dose reduction to 10 - 15 g powder daily (1 - 1 ½ bag).
    • Children: The average daily initial dose is 0.25 g/kg body weight, e.g. B.:
      • 10 - 20 kg
        • Dosage: ¼ to ½ bag daily (2.5 - 5 g powder)
      • 20 - 40 kg
        • Dosage: ½ to 1 bag daily (5 - 10 g powder)
      • 40 - 60 kg
        • Dosage: 1 to 2 bag daily (10 - 20 g powder)
• b) Hepatic encephalopathy:
  • The dosage should be individually adjusted by humiliation or increase in such a way that a soft bowel movement takes place twice a day. The recommended initial dose is 0.5 to 0.7 g/kg body weight every day. It should be taken over 3 earnings with meals.

• Treatment duration:

Taking

  • Production of the 40%solution:
    • dissolve 200 g of the drug in hot, distilled water with constant stirring.
    • After full resolution, fill in with water to 500 ml.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking it is required:
  • Longer applications without interruption of laxatives should be avoided in principle.
  • In cases of chronic constipation, a color -rich diet, sufficient fluid intake or physical activity should first be sought.
  • In patients with artificial thin or large intestine output, the medicine is not recommended.
  • A doctor should be consulted with longer constipation.
  • Like all laxatives, the preparation should not be taken if symptoms or the suspicion of an organic disease of the gastrointestinal tract, unclear abdominal pain or blood are in the stool.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy:
  • So far there have been little experience about using the preparation during pregnancy. Unwanted drug effects have not yet become known. Although there have been no evidence of fruit -damaging effects in the animal experiment, the medicine, like all laxatives, especially in the first three months, should only be taken on medical advice.
• Still -time:
  • There are no examples of the transition of the preparation to breast milk. However, this seems to be without clinical importance, since anyway only small amounts dhe substance from the intestine in the bloodstream.
