Ingredients of Lioran Classic for day and night hard capsules (pack size: 20 pieces) :

1 hard capsule contains:
260 mg dry extract of passion flower herb (5 – 7: 1)
Extractant: Methanol 60% (V/V)

The other components are:
Lactose monohydrate, cellulose powder, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich], gelatin, sodium dodecyl sulfate, chlorophyllin-copper complex trisodium salt (E 141), titanium dioxide (E 171)

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to individual ingredients, Lioran Classic for day and night hard capsules (pack size: 20 pieces) should not be used.

1. Time of intake
“When is the best time to take Lioran® classic?”
Depending on the level of nervous restlessness, it is possible to take 2 capsules a day. Lioran® classic does not make you tired and does not limit your ability to concentrate. Lioran® classic is also suitable as a “sleep aid” if nervous restlessness makes it difficult to fall asleep. Here, 2 capsules in the evening are recommended. However, the maximum daily dose of 4 capsules should not be exceeded.4 There is no limit to how long Lioran® classic can be taken night and day! 2. Difficulty swallowing “My mother has problems taking the capsules. She would like to open it and take the contents without the cover, is this possible?” Of course, if swallowing the capsule causes problems, it is possible to open it. The capsule can be pulled apart and you can then use the capsule contents, for example. B. stir into yogurt or applesauce and eat with it. It is very important to remove the capsule from the blister immediately before opening and taking the powder, so that the quality and effect of the dry extract it contains are not impaired. To protect the capsule from excessive pressure when unblistering, please score the protective film with your fingernail.

3. Blister
“Once a week I finish my tablets and then have my daily tablets in the box. Can’t I do the same with Lioran®?”
Lioran® classic for night and day is a capsule preparation with the ingredient passion flower herb dry extract. The capsule strength is deliberately chosen to be thin in order to enable rapid dissolution in the stomach and a quick onset of action. The capsule does not have a coating such as that found in e.g. B. have dragees and can protect against climatic influences. The ingredient is very sensitive to humidity. If this is bound, the contents can stick together to form a sticky mass. In such a case, optimal active ingredient release and effect can no longer be guaranteed.

4. Extractant methanol
“The extract agent methanol 60% by volume is listed among the components under the further information section. Can you please explain to me what this means in practice. How much alcohol is in a capsule?”
Methanol is used as an extractant because studies show that methanolic extracts have a higher anxiolytic effect than ethanolic extracts. Alcoholic extractants (such as methanol) are used to access the valuable ingredients. This would not be possible with just water and is what makes the clear difference to tea. Of course, as a ready-made preparation, Lioran® classic no longer contains any residues of the extractant - it is therefore absolutely alcohol-free!

5. Kidney problems
“Can passion flower extract also be administered to people with kidney failure?”
Lioran® classic is a natural medication that contains Passiflora incarnata – a dry extract of passion flower herb – as an ingredient. Plant extracts are always mixtures of a large number of individual substances and the effectiveness is attributed to the total extract. It is not possible to determine the breakdown of each individual substance. Therefore, there are insufficient data to make a specific dosage recommendation for renal insufficiency.

6. Lactose monohydrate
“Are these Lioran® passionflower hard capsules also available without the addition of lactose?”
If you have lactose intolerance, you will experience digestive problems about 30 minutes to 2 hours after eating foods containing lactose. The symptoms only appear after a certain amount of lactose (e.g. 12-18 g lactose), are dose-dependent and vary greatly from person to person. Foods are considered lactose-free if they contain less than 0.1 g of lactose per 100 g. For comparison: 100 g of whole milk contains 4.6 - 4.8 g of lactose. Our product Lioran® classic contains a total of 0.0368 g of lactose monohydrate per capsule. If the maximum daily dose of 4 capsules were taken, the total intake would be 0.1472 g of lactose monohydrate. With the maximum single dose of 2 capsules, the lactose intake would be 0.0736 g lactose monohydrate. This is significantly less than a product declared as “lactose-free food” is allowed to contain.
