Instructions for use for MANUKALIND Wound healing ointment, 15 g

ManukaLind wound healing ointment (15g)

• The new wound healing ointment with Manuka honey
• For all phases of wound healing – ideal for each of your wounds
• Can be dosed perfectly thanks to the unique galenics – without sticking

Application instructions
• Can be applied several times a day for wound care as needed.
• If necessary, carefully clean wound edges.
• Apply ManukaLind generously. There must be complete contact between ManukaLind and the wound base. Fill wound cavities directly with ManukaLind.
• An appropriate sterile dressing may be used to cover the treated wound.
• If interactive dressings are used (e.g. polyfoam or hydrocolloids), it must be ensured that they do not contain any active ingredients, as there is no experience yet regarding compatibility with ManukaLind.
• The wound dressing should be changed if it is saturated with wound secretion (exudate) or if the covering dressing allows wound secretion to pass through.
• When removing/changing the dressing, rinse/clean the wound with water if necessary and reapply ManukaLind.
• When caring for wounds/changing dressings, the currently valid guidelines for hygiene and infection prevention must be adhered to. This includes at least thorough hand disinfection, the use of sterile disposable gloves and mouth and nose protection.

Areas of application/indications
ManukaLind can be used for skin irritations and wounds. These include: Acute and chronic wounds and ulcers, infected wounds, surgical wounds, surgical wounds, burns (grades I and II) and scalds, necrotic wounds, diabetic wounds, covered wounds, decubitus ulcers, poorly healing wounds, cuts and abrasions, superficial wounds, Scar care for stitched wounds, bite wounds, skin irritations, foot and leg ulcers (venous, arterial).

Contraindications
• Not to be used in patients with a known allergy to bee products (e.g. honey, pollen, propolis, etc.), thyme or lavender oil.
• Do not use on heavily exuding wounds, third degree burns, in deep, narrow cavities/wound spaces or in the sinuses.
• Not suitable for use on children under 12 months and pregnant or breastfeeding women.
• There are no reports of increased blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes following use of the ointment because the product is not absorbed. However, diabetics should consult their doctor before using ManukaLind.

Precautions and warnings
• Do not allow the opening of the tube to come into direct contact with the wound. Use one tube for one patient.
• In case of contact with eyes, rinse carefully.
• Slight burning or pulling may occur after application. If symptoms persist, remove the bandage, rinse the wound with water and, if necessary, consult your doctor.
• If you experience an allergic reaction, stop treatment immediately and contact your doctor.
• If the desired effect is not achieved within 3 weeks, stop use and consult your doctor.

ManukaLind is suitable for treating wounds and skin irritations in all stages of wound healing. The unique composition of ManukaLind products is based on the New Zealand phenomenon of Manuka honey. This is obtained in New Zealand by honey bees from the South Sea myrtle (Leptospermum scoparium - or Manuka bush) and has been used there as a remedy for many generations. It has strong antibacterial and cell-renewing properties and thus promotes wound healing under optimally moist wound environment conditions.

ManukaLind contains Manuka honey with a particularly high proportion of methylglyoxal (MGO 514+), a sugar breakdown product that is present in up to 100 times higher concentration than in conventional types of honey. Because of this unique natural phenomenon and the associated antibacterial properties, Manuka honey is valued by experts worldwide.
