Mode of action.

In Otriven against runny nose 0.1 % nose. nTropfen (pack size: 20 ml) contained active ingredient xylometazolin hydrochloride has vascular -narrowing properties by collecting the veins of the mucous membrane. This reduces the excessive blood flow to the nose and the mucous membrane swells.

• Cleaned water, sodium chloride, dinatrogen phosphate-dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, dinatriumedate-2-water, benzalkonium chloride

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, in children under the age of 6 and in dry nasal mucosa with bark formation, the medicine should not be used.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, cardiovascular diseases and metabolic diseases, a doctor must be consulted before application.

dosage

Clean your nose before using the Otriven against runny nose 0.1 % nasal drops (pack size: 20 ml) with strong murzling. Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and school children give 1 drops 2-3 times a day Otriven against runny nose 0.1 % nasal drops (pack size: 20 ml) in each nostril. During the insertion, put your head far back and breathe through your nose. Then move your head to the right and left so that the solution is distributed well. Patient information

- Longer or frequent use as well as higher doses of xylometazolin hydrochloride can burn or dry the nasal mucosa. This can occur after 5-day treatment and, after continued application, cause permanent mucosal compensation with bark formation.
- Xylometazolinhydrochloride nasal spray should therefore not be used for more than 5 days unless the medical order.
- A new application should only take place after a break of several days.
- The doctor should always be interviewed about the duration of use in children.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist!
- Since there are only inadequate investigations on any effects of xylometazoline hydrochloride on the unborn child, and since side effects in the maternal organism cannot be excluded, xylometazolin hydrochloride should not be applied during pregnancy and lactation.
- An application during breastfeeding should be omitted, since it is not known whether the active ingredient will pass into breast milk.
