Field of use

Synofen contains the active ingredients paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (or NSAR).
Paracetamol works in a different way than ibuprofen, but both active ingredients work together to reduce pain.
Synofen is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain. Synofen is especially useful for pain that cannot be relieved by the use of ibuprofen or paracetamol alone.
Synofen is used in adults aged 18 and over.

Mode of action

Active substances / ingredients / ingredients

Synofen - with ibuprofen and paracetamol (pack size: 10 pieces) contains:

The active ingredients are paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Each film-coated tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol and 200 mg ibuprofen.

The other ingredients are: Tablet core: Maize starch, Crospovidone (Type A) (Ph.Eur.), Silica, colloidal anhydrous, Povidone K30, Pregelatinised maize starch, Talc, Stearic acid (Ph.Eur.) [pflanzlich] Film-coating: Poly(vinyl alcohol). ), talc, macrogol 3350, titanium dioxide (E171).

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients listed above, the product should not be used.



Synofen must not be taken,
if you are allergic to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6),
if you regularly drink large amounts of alcohol,
if you have had allergic reactions (e.g. bronchospasm, angioedema, asthma, rhinitis or urticaria) in the past to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAR,
if you have an active peptic ulcer (ie. gastric or duodenal ulcer) or bleeding or has recurred (at least two distinct episodes of proven ulcer or bleeding),
if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSARtherapy,
if you have a brain haemorrhage or other active bleeding,
if you have blood disorders,
if you suffer from severe heart, liver or kidney failure,
if you suffer from severe dehydration (due to vomiting, diarrhea or not drinking enough fluids),
— during the last 3 months of pregnancy,
— if you are under the age of 18.

dosage

Recommended use of Synofen - with ibuprofen and paracetamol (pack size: 10 pieces):

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Do not take longer than 3 days.

Adult
The recommended dose is 1 tablet up to three times a day. This is to be taken with water.
There must be a time interval of at least 6 hours between the individual doses.
No more than six tablets may be taken in a 24-hour period (equivalent to 3,000 mg paracetamol and 1,200 mg ibuprofen per day).
It is recommended to take Synofen with a meal to reduce the chance of side effects.

Use in children and adolescents
Synofen must not be taken by children and adolescents under the age of 18.
For oral use and for short-term use only.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, seek medical advice immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen (see package leaflet “What you need to know before you take Synofen”). Synofen should not be taken for more than 3 days. If your symptoms persist or worsen, contact your doctor.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

pregnancy
Do not take Synofen if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy as it may harm your unborn baby or cause problems during delivery. It can cause kidney and heart problems in your unborn baby. It may affect your bleeding tendency and that of your baby and may cause labor to start later or last longer than expected. You should not take Synofen during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless absolutely necessary and recommended by your doctor. If you need treatment during this period or while you are trying to conceive, the dose should be as low as possible and for as short a time as possible. fertility
The use of ibuprofen can affect female fertility and is not recommended for women trying to conceive. Discontinuation of ibuprofen treatment should be considered in women who have difficulty conceiving or are undergoing fertility testing.

Hints

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and the blister after EXP. Do not use until" the expiry date stated. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicinal product does not require special storage conditions.
