Field of use

• This preparation is a sterile gel that replaces the tear fluid and is used in a dry eye or with a lack of or poor humidification of the surface of the eye.
• The active ingredient is called carbomer.
• With a lack of or poor humidification of the surface of the eye, the tear film only insufficiently wets the surface of the eye. The eyelid strike can cause eye irritation. Mucin deficiency is often the cause. This creates a special shape of the dry eye, which paradoxically can tears.
• The eye gel forms a wetting film on the surface of the eye and enables irritable gliding with the eyelid strike. The surface of the eye is protected from drying out.
• The eye gel can be used by the ophthalmologist during a contact glass examination of the eye. To do this, the ophthalmologist drips a few drops to the contact glass and put it on after anesthesia of the horn and conjunctiva.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against carbomers or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always apply the preparation exactly according to the instructions. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is a drop in the conjunctiva bag 4 times a day or as required.
• The drug is suitable for permanent application.
• For the application during a contact glass examination, which is carried out by your doctor, some drops are dripped into the haptic part of the contact glass and this is set up after anesthesia of the horn and conjunctiva.
• Duration of the application:
  • When treating the dry eye, the duration of the application depends on the condition of the disease. Please ask your doctor.

• If you have used a larger amount than you should,
  • rinse the eye with lukewarm water. No side effects can be expected. Do not drop until it is time for the next planned application.

• If you have forgotten the application,
  • continue the therapy with the same dosage at the next time. Do not apply the double dose.

• If you cancel the application
  • If you interrupt the application, you have to expect the typical symptoms of a dry eye soon.

  • Wash your hands.
  • Open the tube without touching the tip of the tube. Take the tube between the thumb and forefinger and carefully approach the eye.
  • Tilt slightly back, look upwards and pull the lower eyelid with the index finger.
  • Keep the tube vertically over the eye for dropping. Press the tube slightly with your fingers until a drop detaches without the tip of the tube with the eye or Lidrand comes into contact.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this preparation.
  • Use the preparation exclusively for dripping in your (e) eye (s).
  • When the eye pain, changes in eyesight, eye irritation, persistent eye reddening or when the disease worsens or continues, you should stop using and consult your doctor.
  • When used with other medicines, please also read category "interactions".
  • After use, excess eyes should be removed from the eyelashes or eyelids (e.g. with a soft cloth) in order to avoid possible crust formation through drying carbomers.
• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • Until the gel is evenly distributed on the surface of the eye, a slight blurry can occur after using the preparation. You should first drive a car again, without a safe hold or operate machines if this impairment has subsided.

Pregnancy

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using all medicines.
• If used properly, you can use the eye gel during pregnancy and lactation.

Miscellaneous

- Depending on the severity of the clinical picture, the relief of the symptoms lasts about 3-4 hours.

- The drug should not be used while wearing contact lenses.
