Field of use

• Dimenhydrinate is the pharmaceutical active ingredient of this drug and acts against travel sickness.
• The preparation is used for children aged 2 to 12 to prevent and treat the symptoms in the event of travel sickness (at sea, in the country or in the air), such as: B. nausea, vomiting and/or dizziness.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to dimensory hydrinate, diphenhydramine or one of the other components of this drug;
  • if you suffer from porphyria (a rare, usually hereditary disease, in which a large amount of the blood pigeon porphyrin is excreted over the chair and urine);
  • if you suffer from asthma crises.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or after instruction from your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended doses are:
  • Children from 2-3 years (depending on the child's body weight): 3 - 6 ml of the solution to take (12 - 24 mg dimen hydrinate). If necessary, repeat the DoSIsgan every 8 hours.
    • Child weight: 8 - 10 kg
      • Daily maximum dose (per 24 hours): 36 mg (3 ml a maximum of 3x per day)
    • Child weight: > 10 - 14.5 kg
      • Daily maximum dose (per 24 hours): 48 mg (4 ml a maximum of 3x per day)
    • Child weight: > 14.5 kg
      • Daily maximum dose (per 24 hours): 72 mg (6 ml a maximum of 3x per day)
  • Overdosing with dimen hydrinate, the active ingredient of this drug, can be life -threatening, especially in children under 3 years, and must therefore be avoided in this age group, especially in all circumstances. So never give your toddler more than 5 mg/kg body weight in 24 hours.
  • Children from 4 - 6 years:
    • 3 - 6 ml of the solution to take (12 - 24 mg dimen hydrinate). If necessary, repeat the dose of dose every 6 - 8 hours. In no way administer more than 18 ml solution to take a day (72 mg of dimen hydrinate in 24 hours).
  • Children from 7 - 12 years:

  • Children under 2 years:

  • Patients with liver disease:

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately if you have taken a large amount of the preparation than you should.
  • Above all, symptoms of an overdose are: extended pupils, reddened face, excitement, hallucinations, confusion, stomach and intestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, changes in movement, cramps, deep consciousness (coma), severe drop in breathing and heart functions (cardiorespiratory collapse ) and death. The symptoms can occur by 2 hours after the overdose.

Taking

• This medicine is to take.
• It is recommended to give this medicine for at least half an hour (preferably 1 - 2 hours) before starting the trip for the first time; If the drug has not yet been taken, the first intake is taken when the symptoms occur. If the travel sickness stops, wait at least 6 hours to give the medicine the next time.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine:
    • If you suffer from asthma or severe respiratory diseases (chronic obstructive lung disease [COPD], emphysema, chronic bronchitis), since this medicine can thicken the secretion and change coughing.
    • If you suffer from a thyroid overactive (hyperthyroidism), an increase in intraocular pressure (glaucoma), an enlarged prostate (prostate hypertrophy), high blood pressure (hypertension) or an illness that can cause the urinary tract or gastrointestinal tract.
