Field of use

• The medicine is a means of binding excess stomach acid.
  • It is used for the symptomatic treatment of diseases in which the stomach acid is to be bound:
    • Heartburn, reflux and acid -related stomach complaints,
    • Stomach or duodenal ulcers (Ulcus ventriculi or ulcus duodeni).
  • Notice:
    • In patients with stomach or duodenal ulcers, an examination on Helicobacter pylori (a certain type of bacteria) and - in the event of proof - a therapy with which the bacterium is fully removed should be considered, since the ulcer usually also heals.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to algae throat or magnesium hydroxide, peppermint oil, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoat, propyl-4-hydroxybenzoat (parabens) or one of the other components of this medicine,
  • if you have a heavy kidney failure,
  • if you have a reduced phosphate blood level (hypophosphatemia).

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package insert or follow the consultation with your doctor. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Stomach and duodenal ulcers:
    • Adults generally take 1-2 bags of suspension undiluted 1 to 2 hours after every meal and immediately before going to bed. The daily dose should not exceed 4-6 bag suspension (corresponding to about 100-150 MVAL neutralization capacity).
  • Symptomatic treatment of heartburn and acid -related stomach complaints:
    • If necessary, take a bag of suspension several times a day.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the treatment depends on the type and severity and the course of the disease. If the symptoms remain below the treatment for more than 2 weeks, a doctor should be consulted.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Poisoning by the medicine is unlikely due to the low absorption of aluminum and magnesium.
  • In the event of overdose, it can be changed in stool behavior such as stool deviation, increase in the frequency of stool, bauchoke and vomiting come. Special measures are generally not required here.
  • In patients with restricted kidney function, due to the increased risk of poisoning, a doctor must be notified immediately if overdose with larger amounts of the drug. In such cases, a disturbance of the intestinal passage and an intestinal lock can be triggered or worse.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Next time, no longer take the medicine, but continue taking the prescribed or recommended dose.

 

• If you cancel the intake
  • Definitely speak to your doctor before you, e.g. B. due to the occurrence of side effects, interrupting or ending a treatment prescribed by the doctor prematurely.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of this medicine, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• To take.
• Knead the bag vigorously before use and then tear open at the marked area. Either put the bag content on a spoon and then take it undiluted or empty directly from the bag into the mouth.
• Notice:
  • Other drugs should generally take place at least two hours before or after the suspension is taken. During treatment with antibiotics such as tetracyclines and quinolons, taking gastric acid -binding medicines is not recommended.

Patient information

• Longer-lasting and recurring stomach complaints can be signs of a serious illness, such as a stomach or duodenum ulcer. Treatment with the medicine should therefore not take longer than 14 days without a medical examination. If the taling, blood and vomiting of blood occurs, you must see a doctor immediately.
• Please speak to your doctor before taking the medicine,
  • if you suffer from kidney disease,
  • if you adhere to a low -phosphate diet.
• This medicine can lead to constipation and an overdose can cause a reduction in intestinal movements. High doses can trigger or aggravate high doses in patients who are particularly at risk, such as patients with restricted kidney function, children under 2 years of age or older people.
• The active ingredients of this drug are hardly absorbed from the digestive tract into the blood. Therefore, side effects in patients with normal kidney function are rare. However, too high doses or long-term use and even normal doses in patients who comply with a low-phosphate diet or lead to phosphate in children under 2 years (due to aluminum phosphate binding). A lack of phosphate can be connected to an increased bone absorption and increased calcium excretion in the urine with the risk of an osteomalacia, i.e. H. Increased softness and tendency to bend the bones.
• In the case of severely restricted kidney function, taking magnesium and aluminum-containing medicines can cause an increased magnesium content of the blood and an increased aluminum content of the blood (risk of poisoning!). With limited kidney function and long-term intake of high doses, aluminum storage can occur primarily into the nerve and bone tissue. This can lead to brain damage (encephalopathy, dementia) and anemia (microcytic anemia) or worsen a dialysis -related bone difference (osteomalacia). Therefore, you should avoid long -lasting intake of high doses if you have a limited kidney function.
• With limited kidney function (creatinine clearance
• In patients with porphyria (disturbance of the formation of the red blood pigment) who undergo hemodialysis (blood wash), intake can be a risk and should therefore only take place after consultation with the doctor.
• Application in children
  • The drug should not be used in children under the age of 12 there is no sufficient experiences in this age group.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • If you are pregnant, you may only take the medicine after consulting your doctor. In order to avoid aluminum pollution and thus a possible damage to your child, you may only take this medicine in the lowest possible dosage during pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding
  • Aluminum compounds pass into breast milk. A risk for the newborn cannot be assumed because only very small quantities are recorded. It is therefore possible to breastfeed, provided that the recommendations for dosage and duration of use are observed.
